Welcome to Signature Healthcare

Signature Healthcare’s physicians, advanced practice and administrative staff are the foundation of our organization. We want to build on this foundation of caring professionals who bring expert clinical and professional expertise, with a common goal of keeping our community safe and healthy.

We are a multi-specialty, not-for-profit hospital and physician group comprised of Brockton Hospital and Signature Medical Group – more than 150 physicians practicing in 18 ambulatory locations. Founded as Brockton Hospital in 1896, the Hospital is the oldest and largest inpatient facility in its service area, with a long tradition of community-based care. We are one of the only not-for-profit community-based healthcare delivery systems in Southeastern Massachusetts, providing a full range of high quality primary care, specialty care, hospital care and related ancillary services. We provide care on a coordinated basis across the continuum which ensures high quality and low cost. We are an affiliate of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Tufts Children’s Hospital and Fertility Centers of New England.

The practice of medicine today is more challenging than ever before…for our patients and our clinicians. Staying healthy is as important as healing from an injury or illness. Whether providing integrated care at a community practice close to your home, or treating patients in one of our more than 17 specialties, we seek your valuable contribution to our culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Safety is a critical priority for our organization. Nearly 100,000 people die in the United States each year from harm suffered in American hospitals. We strive for zero safety events for both patients and staff. All staff are trained in safety procedures and should feel able to say “STOP” if they do feel uncomfortable with a situation with a safety infraction. Another important aspect of our culture is continuous improvement or Lean. One of the unique aspects of Lean is its focus on identifying waste in our processes and using the talents of our staff to standardize and improve our systems to reduce waste and improve quality. In fact, one of the eight forms of waste is failure to utilize the talent and expertise of your team. We have won numerous awards for Quality and Safety, including being named to the Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Honor Roll, being named a Top Teaching Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, being noted as a Best Hospital for America by Washington Monthly, and being recognized as a Women’s Choice Best Hospital – Comprehensive Breast Center.

We are committed to safety, high quality, and a welcoming patient experience for all who come to our organization. We are proud to serve our community and look forward to sharing our culture with you.
